Great place to find lesser known gourmet food items like European noodles, such as halushkies, and Greek caviar... Which is a lot like Japanese mentaiko, so I use it for mentaiko spaghetti. Yummy.

THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IN CHAPEL HILL!!! The people there are so awsome, they always remember us when we go, its like from the show ""Cheers,"" where everbody knows your name. Its part of going home. Now that they are closing, we will have to resort to going and buying olive oil just to go in. Mariakakis is an awsome restaurant, and despite what anyone else says, it is great.

Stopped by last week for a little lunch. Had a Reuben that took for ever to get. after eating it wish I was still waiting . Person at the counter was half asleep and there was some guy running around yelling at everyone ( the owner I assume ) I feel for him, but its a very unpleasant atmosphere. the food in the case looks old and everything could use a good dusting ( wine bottles ).
