Marguerite's was a great place but it closed in August 2007. A new bakery with some of the same staff is opening in that location soon.

A surprising Find In Charlotte

Great for tarts and cakes, pastries are heavier than expected (Nova's pastries, esp. pain au chocolat are airier). The place feels very industrial, but who would expect a Laduree in Charlotte, anyway? A nice touch is that pastries are packaged in a white pastry box - (where do those pink boxes in films come from, anyways?).

Being new to Charlotte you can't imagine my surprise and delight when I stumbled across this veritable gem of a bakery. The croissants reminded me of Paris and the service was with a smile. Make the trip...it is worth it.
