Marcel's closed, now "Ed the Beachcomber

Marcel's was sold to the owner of Moby Dick's. He has changed the name to Ed the Beachcomber. The restaurant has a different motif with a lot of beach stuff. They do have a great selection of food and have a chef now. We went for lunch and enjoyed the Popeye salad (spinach) and a cup of gumbo. The gumbo...

locals LOVE this one- tourists find it by accident. BEST kept secret at the coast. Everything on the menu is fantastic.

We really enjoyed our meals. Good German food with a nice variety of German beer. We have been there twice. One time the service was great. One time the service was very slow and took forever to get our food. Both times, the food was great. We will go again.

My two sisters, a girlfriend and I have been going to Port Aransas every year for many years. We would never miss going to Marcel's. I am a big steak eater and he has steaks that will melt in your mouth. I am not a big fan of German food but did have it one time and it was delicious....
