One of the original old line robber baron's mansions on Fifth Ave.with paintings of reviered ancestors and other family owned propertys on the walls. You can just feel that one of the servants was coming in to take our order. Alas, the food nowhere lived up to our expectation. A buffet instead of table service. Why? I had avery good experience at this hotel. IT took a little while to get over the fact that the facilities were not in good shape and the staff is so overworked. When I first arrived, the receptionist told me wait for my valet he will park your car, then wait for my butler he will carry your bags, then he took my car keys, parked the car, came back and carried my bas on the stairs because the...

Interesting but very noisy...

It's an interesting property and the staff were great but the location is noisy because of the proximity to Fifth avenue. If the price was lower it would be an easy trade off but for $250+ there are much better options in Pittsburgh. Try the Fairmont if you want luxury (formulaic but luxurious) but for equal comfort I'd just stick with a Marriott type hotel.
