Awesome.. I love this place. Best Sushi in Seattle, that I've found, anyway.. And I love the privacy of the little rooms. Great place to take relatives from out of town, or jus tto go on a date with your honey..

I just wish they weren't quite so busy, you have to book sometimes.

If you try out Maneki, you`ll find an eatery that serves up Japanese dishes with a menu based largely on sushi.

This funky place is perhaps our overall favorite sushi restaurant. The service is a little flaky occasionally, but that's because it gets deservedly crowded — the prices are exceptionally reasonable, and the food is always superb. It comes as no surprise that Maneki is the oldest sushi restaurant in town, as clearly it's had a long time to hone its craft.

Maneki's extensive menu specializes in this sort of comfort food--tonkatsu, tempura, and much more. If the restaurant is packed (and it usually is), look for seats in the bar upfront--the same menu is served, and... more

The service can be erratic, your appetizers and sushi brought in reverse order by two different ever-smiling people. But said appetizers and sushi are so great that they make all the weird things about Maneki completely lovely. If you come as a group, you can take over a tatami room. Order the outstanding hot dishes (kaibashira bata-yaki, tender scallops and mushrooms sautéed in butter with... more

Enjoy this tried-and-true Seattle mainstay. Maneki has got to be one of the oldest sushi restaurants in the city, still family owned and booming. Warm, friendly staff greet you as you arrive. There's a sizable seating area in the front with two private rooms farther back and at the very back, a secret sushi bar awaits for up to 3 couples to sit at. Some might think it's not formal enough,... more
