The Madison Hotel is the best hotel in downtown memphis. If you were to visit memphis and stay in the Madison, you would be right in the middle of the action. Beale street is not too far nor are all the restaraunts. The employees are also nice and immensly curteous. So if you were to visit Memphis the Madison is where you would want to stay.

My husband and I stumbled upon this hotel while driving around downtown looking for a hotel that wasn't completely booked. We were so lucky! The staff was nice and friendly, even by southern standards, and service was also very prompt. Housekeeping did a large load of laundry for no cost except gratuity, and delivered it speedily. I never actually stayed at the Madison, and I never will.

I attended a conference in Memphis and had difficulty securing a hotel room for the entire duration of the stay. I pieced together reservations at two places, the Madison one of them. The other hotel had a cancellation, so I called the Madison to cancel the one-night reservation--well within the time frame allotted for changing... more
