M. Restaurant and Bar belongs to our growing restaurant group, locally owned by restauranteurs Jan and Bernie Strawn. M. is located inside of Cummins Station in downtown Nashville and showcases their contemporary take on Southern fare in a modern setting.

I brought a customer to M for lunch. The food was great! Portions were about what you would expect for lunch. The service was very slow. We were seated for 15 mins before we were asked for our order and we had to flag somebody down to bring our check. I've been to M before, so I know this is a bit out of character, but it was disappointing none the less.
The food was quite good but they had lost our reservation and then tried to put us at a terrible table in a small alcove that overlooked a storage room.
This was our first time here and the food was great as was our service. The house music was at a modest enough level to converse across the table yet still enjoy it as well. While I could rave about every course I'll laud praise on the dessert, Donut Den Bread Pudding w/Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream. My wife commented we should come back post-Symphony for coffee and dessert!!
The staff was incredible. The entrees and deserts were fantastic. Wouldn't order the bone marrow canoe appetizer again but would definitely recommend M
Our first time visit but definitely not our last. Our experience from beginning to end was delicious from our black walnut infused old fashion to the scallop dish and mushroom/spaghetti squash vegetarian option. Highly recommend for a very unique food experience.
