Lucky Baldwin's

Luck(y's) be a lady tonight...

So it's an English pub that's run by Belgians, or at least Belgian-beer and food-loving English. But that's good news for us. Because not only do they have fine British pub food (sausage and mash, a ploughman's with better-than-average cheese, good fish and chips), they also have a very cosmopolitan beer menu. Tons of great Belgian Ales, many on draft, and my favorite beer in the world--the German Weizenbock (dark wheat beer) called Aventinus--also on draft.

On top of that the Belgian food is good, at least the big dish of mussels I had, with some kind of tomato coulis--really, really great with a cold beer.

Atmosphere is great, service is fine, it's just a nice place to hang out. Come to think of it, why aren't you there right now?

Anglophiles, ex-pats and really anyone that loves a Guinness stop in to this Brit pub for its selection of beer, homestyle food and across-the-pond feel. The authenticity extends to the football ahem, soccer on the telly and British waiters.

Great beer bar sporting an awesome choice of some of the worlds greatest beers and ales, nicely eclectic clientel and grumpy SOB owner, David.
Good pub food also.

The Scene "Think globally, drink locally" is the motto of this affable Pasadena pub named after E.J. "Lucky" Baldwin, the founder of the Santa Anita racetrack. In this case, "globally" means the U.K., so expect exposed brick, "Lovely day for a Guinness" posters and soccer hooligans on the telly. Enjoy a game of darts in the upstairs loft, tuck into crispy fish and chips or have a... more

I was at this place on a Friday afternoon for lunch with my buddies and was expecting this place to be as good as the reviews sound, but i was very disappointed.

I order for a special and it came out with hair in it. When i asked the waitress to replace it for me, she got the same frigging dish without the hair and lied that the dish was completely remade. I knew it was the same dish because... more

My boyfriend drags me with him to Lucky Baldwin's from time to time. It's ok once in a while, the food is just ok and the beer selection is great. However, the service is bad, it always feels dirty. My hair gets caught in the plastic lawn chairs outside because they are all cracked. Restrooms never have toilet paper (not to mentions they are filthy). There is always an old man sitting in... more
