Primarily a hangout for the young and the restless, this downtown hangout near the honky-tonk strip is a favorite of college students and karaoke fiends.
For some, Lonnie's is the heart and soul of Nashville. Caked in memorabilia and photographs, the walls are a living scrapbook of Nashville's glorious past and prosperous present as the home of country music. On weekend nights, the body heat from the local college kids turns Lonnie's into a virtual sauna. Try a Thursday night where, most likely, Lonnie himself will greet you at the door.

Lonnie's is a great place to go while visiting Nashville. You can go in and sing a few tunes, or just listen to the girls that host the karaoke, they are all very good. Don't go there hungry though, no food, just drinks and some snacks. Very comfortable feeling too. Out of towners won't feel like they don't belong.
Pros
+ Great karaoke, good host singers, great atmosphere
There is not enough to say about Lonnie's. I have been going there for years and although I am not a big fan of the weekend large crowds, it is perfect for me on most any weeknight. Friendly and "family-like"...my sister and I closed it down a few years back (and a few times since) and Lonnie made a pan of brownies that he shared before sending us on our way!!
