Groups gather in the brick-walled back room, rearranging the furniture to suit their size. "That '70s Show" meets MOMA in tidy clusters of flea-market chic tables, couches and mismatched lamps. An impromptu game of musical chairs is often inspired by Danish Modern nuts who just can't resist trying out every last stylish seat. Couples, cozy in the corner, are bemused by it all--trading off turns... more

Lolita used to be one of those undiscovered gems that you could always count on to be blessedly empty most of the time; even when there was a crowd, the bar's spaciousness allowed everyone to spread out and peacefully coexist. But in keeping with greater nightlife trends on the Lower East Side, the secret appears to be out regarding this former neighborhood exclusive: it's now dominated, at... more

The Scene Located just below Delancey sits this sleeper of a bar, distinguished only by a pink neon sign. That's as flashy as it gets for this low-key hangout best known for its cunning ability to keep a low profile. Specialty drinks are simple twists on old standbys--the Lolita is basically a Sex on the Beach made with raspberry vodka--but the bustling happy hour and its potent... more

HERE!!! Really great crowd! Smart, friendly, fun people just talk to each other like it's a good party where everyone who's there knows someone who knows someone you know and like enough to go to a party they throw. If you are totally sick of LES-posers in Hell Square AND you know that being an snobby a-hole does not make you cool AND you're smart you'll fit right in!

I was there in Friday. great tunes. fun crowd.... completley ruined by a real beeyatch bartender! i take offense to such attitudes because i worked in the service industry in NYC for years. I know it's rough but... come on!!! service with a smile goes a LONG WAY! It's not cool to be evil, sorry lady!

Pros

+ neighborhood, music, atmosphere

Cons

- mean bartender!!!

Rude bartenderess

We sat at the bar and tipped $1 on a round of two drinks. This seemed to be on par with what the other patrons were tipping. The bartenderess picked up our $1 bill, put it back down, then proceeded to openly complain how people were tipping badly. Needless to say, we took our $1 and left.

Pros

+ artwork was okay

Cons

- drinks are weak (not enough liquor), rude servers
