I came to San Diego for a conference but my parents came to enjoy a long weekend. We took the short airport MTS bus to the seafront bus stop at Hawthorn. Hotel is a 5-10min, depending on your suitcase, slightly uphill walk across the railway track. The rooms at this inn are a fantastic value when considered your in San Diego, Little Italy is a short walk away, and a trolley stop to the Convention Center and Gaslamp District is a couple blocks beyond that.
