Le Clafoutis

Came here with some French relatives, who were appropriately impressed. :-) Great food, incredible service (our waiter spoke fluent French) and lovely atmosphere.

Dependable Meals & People Watching

Review Rating
YellowBot Location
Clafoutis has sidewalk dining with a total scene: Sunset Strip denizens from all over the world--sometimes including people from all aspects of the entertainment industry--strutting their stuff. Tables are a little cramped and you may be sitting next to somebody, but the food and service are worth it. Prices are moderate, free parking is in the back and you generally do not need reservations. Definitely save room for some dessert; the pastry chef is outstanding.

Great place for a light meal and cocktails.

Located on Sunset Plaza, Le Clafoutis has the requisite sidewalk patio that makes it a prime spot for people-watching. Rivaling next-door neighbor Le Petit Four in European sensibility and clientele, the white linen tables are often filled with Sunset Plaza shoppers, area businesspeople and the occasional tourist. The food is a basic mix of pastas, salads and French-inspired entrees. Dessert... more

Some would say the best place to let life pass you by is from the outdoor patio of West Hollywood's Clafoutis. From its tiny perch at the western tip of the Strip, Clafoutis provides patrons with prime views of the steady stream of boulevard glitz, from the twenty-somethings cruising by in glossy sports cars to the promenading, sun-drenched Beverly Hills matrons doing the designer shop hop. The... more

The cafe's namesake is a French pastry of custard and cherries--but it's not on the menu. Instead, try one of the onsite bakery's mixed-fruit tarts, mousses or cakes, made fresh every morning.

This is L.A.'s answer to a Parisian bistro. A part of the Sunset Plaza scene, the sidewalk tables make a great spot for people-watching. Inside, it's not uncommon to find a famous face noshing in a quiet corner. The cuisine is vaguely French but focuses on bakery items. Sandwiches, served only at lunch, include a croque monsieur as well as an all-American burger. At dinner there's a little bit... more

I used to come here countless times when i was into the whole hollywood scene. Best place to grab dinner before hitting the bars/clubs. NOW,I really hate to do this, but I have no choice. Party of 4. Sat out in Patio and waited for about 10 minutes. No sign of waitress. 10 minutes later she comes and apologizes countless times for us waiting. We order drinks and some calamari, my girlfriend... more

I was in town last week from San Fran and went to check out this place because of the good reviews on Citysearch, and it did not dissapoint! I had the shrimp salad with advacado...it was so good. My friend had the linguini with sundried tomato's, and it was also very good. Sitting outside was really lovely, oh and I forgot to mention the bread, it is sooooooo good.
