The Dish: Oreo Zeppoles (essentially deep-fried Oreos) served with a mini vanilla milkshake chaser.

"You just feel cool" toting "fab" bags from this global standout, known for furnishing "the best of the best for the hard-core road warrior" with "sturdy and fashionable" luggage in "stylish" designs, along with "beautiful" leather goods and accessories; the merchandise is "over-the-top pricewise", but given "attentive" service and "impeccable" quality that "truly lasts", "you won't regret" the...

Set below the “energetic” eatery of the same name, this “Eurotrash” magnet (cloned from the Vegas original) brings clubland “cool” to Midtown as “hedge-fund” managers and “hot” femmes in “four-inch heels” get acquainted while “fantastic DJs” spin “catchy beats”; however, skeptics cite a “pretentious” scene with a “hefty cover” and bottle service that’s “astronomically overpriced.”

Italian import from Las Vegas, currently in previews. Stay tuned.

LAVO New York Restaurant Review

A diner's age (or youthful spirit) might be the determining factor in one's opinion of this Midtown restaurant. Like its Las Vegas sibling, scene-y LAVO prides itself as much on its celebrity diners as it does the stylized Italian fare it serves for the moneyed set (and those who love them). Prices are high, but regulars pay for the privilege of just being there. Portions are big, too, so...

Tao crew crosses the street, bets bank that Vegas brand can make it here. Restaurant slash nightclub, with Pastis-esque trimmings upstairs, Pink Elephant on steroids below. Big, tiered club space, with even bigger bass. Opt for bottle service, just in case anyone doesn't already know you've arrived. On the restaurant side, classic Italian meets high-end tastes. Lobster pizza, spaghetti with...

It's a huge place! We went to a group party hosted for about 60 people and it was downstairs in their night club area. The food was ok but the deserts were amazing! The service was ok! The snag was that we had to stick to a fixed menu and didn't have much choice to order from. So this review might be a bit biased.

I can go there just for their oreo zeppole and their garlic bread! They have good service and delicious pastas. If you love eggplant, you can eat the pasta with eggplant ???

I have to thank the Pope, without whose urban presence I would have dined downtown as usual.  Lucky for me, his arrival led to Lavo.  You will find it in the 50s.  But, once inside, I would swear I was seated two or three miles south.  The space, crowd and service all bring a below 14th Street sensibility.  I cannot, in fact, speak enough about the server who, with such knowledge, enthusiasm...

Being initiated into New York nightlife with a table full of strangers, two drag queens, an EDM saxophonist and a little person dressed in biker regalia is probably not the way most people spent their 22nd birthday. But those people probably haven’t gotten to experience LAVO and its incredible “Oreo Zeppole” either, which is a shame in and of itself.

LAVO Italian Restaurant & Nightclub, midtowns latest nightlife and dining destination from the creators of the world-famous TAO Asian Bistro in NYC and TAO Las Vegas and TAO Beach, is inspired by the original LAVO Las Vegas. Lavo occupies a two level space that consists of a nightclub on the lower level and an Italian restaurant on the upper level. The dining area's mosaic floor, weathered wood seating arrangements and slowly rotating ceiling fans lend Lavo a distinct old world air. The team behind the restaurant brings years of Italian family-style dining experience to the table and offers a menu which features...

The Extras: No matter how stuffed you may be at the end of your meal, skipping the fried Oreos (which are dipped in a thick vanilla milkshake) is a sin.

Know Before You Go: Don?t even think about trying to get in to LAVO?s lower level nightclub (unless you?re ordering magnums of Champagne.

What to Drink: Cocktails like Il Bello (made with Belvedere citrus, peach puree, Lillet and Chambord) are worth the hefty $14 price tag.
