La Verde's takes advantage of the MIT students. You pay almost double for most products. $1 for a single banana, yup, you could get a whole bunch of bananas from other markets for that price.

La Verde's has lots of stuff, so if you're in a pinch or short on time, it's handy. But if you want to watch your wallet, make the walk to Star Market

Scam city - the already steep markups on junk food, rotten fruit, and poor quality deli sandwiches is marked up further when you get to the register, and stuff starts ringing in 40 - 50 cents higher…
