moved to Concord, now called La Sen Bistro

Average Rating
100

This outstanding Berkeley restaurant moved to Concord in November 2012. The menu is the same, & the quality is as wonderful as before. (I always order duck confit, & am never disappointed.)
Parking is now a lot easier.

This restaurant has closed the Berkeley address and opened under a new name in Concord.

We had reservations at another restaurant which-upon seeing it - looked unappealing so we found this gem and had a wonderful meal in all respects and a delightful young French waiter. It was just a perfect evening. I can't wait to get back.

La Rose Bistro serves variations on traditional French cuisine. Popular dishes include Tartare de Saumon (a salmon dish with lemon capers and cremefraiche) and Gatau de Crabe (a crab dish with sweet potatoes and baby bok choy in a balsamic reduction). The restaurant, located a block from the base of campus, boasts a quiet atmosphere that provides a low-key charm.

California-French may not be a "new" cuisine anymore, but sometimes a chef can make it seem so. Such is the case at La Rose, a family owned bistro headed up by veteran chef Vanessa Dang.
