The menu at Koi Los Angeles is inspired by traditional Japanese dishes enhanced with modern California accents. The decor is Zen-inspired colors with a sophisticated blend of feng shui and modern elegance. The atmosphere is upscale and trendy.
Rubbing shoulders with Hollywood's elite is a given here, so play it cool as you sip sake at this hopelessly hip lounge. Whether you're having a few cocktails before tucking into some of the city's finest (and most expensive) sushi or just chatting with friends over drinks, it's difficult to find a venue more elegant in its simplicity than Koi's lounge. Low banquettes in muted earth tones line...

Tucked behind a tall bamboo fence, Koi would be nondescript if not for the flashbulbs of paparazzi lurking outside. It’s become a young Hollywood favorite for its homey atmosphere and its easy menu of Japanese small plates and sushi (crispy rice topped with spicy tuna is the house favorite). A table in the back patio is most desirable (probably because you can look into the rest of the...

The crispy rice with spicy tuna was fantastic. The drinks here were fabulous as well. Very packed place, which is a good sign. Atmosphere was a great vibe, but the music was a bit too loud.
I am a foodie and have eaten at many many LA restaurants, and I have to say, I am always impressed whenever I eat at Koi. The food is delicious, and I have always been treated really well. On my recent visit, I tried several of their new dishes and love them all. For example, Salmon Carpaccio with truffles (and I usually do not eat Salmon) and the Spicy Crunchy Yellowtail Tartare (literally...

Last night I went to KOI with 5 people. We sat out back, in the patio. Service was ok I guess for what it is. Restaurant was about 1/2 full (it was a Friday night at 8:15pm).
My friend was about 3 bites into her mushroom salad appetizer and I kid you not, shattered a large piece of F**KING GLASS, about 2" wide I'd say based on all the small pieces that came out of her mouth, along with 3 or 4...
