I can not stress strongly enough that Kiraku is a MUST visit in Berkeley, California. This has been the best dining experience of my life. Arguably the best Japanese place in town. The food here itself deserves full five stars. The only slight nuisance was the 1hr+ wait. The grilled black cod melt in my month while the lamb chops were well seasoned with some sort of teriyaki...

Kiraku is atraditional Japanese restaurant. The recommended specials are corn tempura, chicken cartilage,Aburi Mentaico, bone marrow, Maru Ika and Nasu Miso. However, sometimes the food comes out a bit slowly since everything is being freshly prepared. Kiraku only takes reservations for the izakaya experience, which has a food and drink minimum per guest.
