We purchased Brite Star lights for the holiday season from a large retail chain. Multiple sets proved defective after a few days and they are warranted for a year. I called this home office and was instructed to mail a package to them, at our expense, with UPC codes as proof of purchase. After sending the package with a very detailed letter, we got back a letter stating (paraphrase), “Sorry you had problems, but we cannot help you because these were made two years ago.” Huh? I’d just bought them three months prior. If that’s the case, it’s NOT our fault that the store carried them over. Brite Star prefers you contact them first regarding warranty, but now I cannot attempt a return at the store without the UPCs. We weren’t looking for a refund of money, but simply a reliable replacement. Clearly our patronage and opinion is worth less to them than a few light strands at their cost. Needless to say, we will never again buy any lights that are manufactured by Brite Star. (Edited April 03, 2009)
I can agree the years ago Kindy's had unique things but now you can find the same items at cheaper prices in other locations. They now have a very BIG HEAD about their store, and by the way their staff sucks. You have to wait forever just to get assistance. Look somewhere else you'll see what I mean. Maybe if you live near Kindy's it makes sense but not if you have to travel far to get there....
Many Years ago when Kindys was on Jackson and Swansons streets they were a great place for great prices on holiday decorations. Now you can forget that. They have the cheapest quality lights at no bargin. You can purchase better quality at walmart and kmart for less.
