My friend and I are in Baltimore for a week long conference. We are both lovers of Japanese Sushi food..and were keen to find an authentic Japanese Sushi place in town. I have been to many sushi restaurants around Baltimore, Towson and Annapolis. I have also eaten sushi in Korea and at authentic Japanese restaurants in New York and Philly. Kiku Sushi compares to the best Japanese Sushi I have tried. The rice is perfectly seasoned and not hard and dry like many places. I've lived in Federal Hill for 3 years and while there are many good sushi choices in the neighborhood - Kiku is definitely the best of those choices. The atmosphere, while a bit stereotypical, is cozy and the family that owns the restaurant are very friendly. The sushi chef can be slow at times, but its well worth the wait.
