I am relatively new to the sushi world and I've never been to any of the 'famous' sushi places (i.e. Koi, Nobu, etc.). That being said ... I have a hard time believing that they are any better than what I ate at Kiku last night. It was awesome! I tried several different rolls and each was outstanding. I went with a good friend having heard many good things about Kiku. The waitress got both our orders wrong, and didn't seem to understand when we explained. Once that was straightened out, a waiter wanted to move our table and spilled the miso soup on us. Definitely a cool joint, all the locals will tell you - this is the place to go for sushi. They hired some new chefs a while ago (I'm not clear on the details), but they really know what they are doing. The tempura is great, even the simple cucumber rolls are delicious. And the staff is very friendly, greeting you as soon as you walk in and chatting with eachother and with regular customers.... more
