Chef John Hogan is a magician when it comes to pampering steak, chops and American comfort food. Power eaters and hitters hang out here. Don't miss the New York strip, steak and frites, steak burger, roasted cod. Great bar action. Excellent service. Good place for big parties.

The kitchen's classic meat-and-potatoes fare brings new life to old favorites: Coated in panko bread crumbs, fried calamari is a discovery, meltingly tender and delicious. Big lumps of crab cling together in a rich crab cake with zesty remoulade. Red-meat lovers choose from a half-dozen steaks, including juicy sirloin and lightly marbled rib eye. Sides include peas, sweet and fragrant with leek... more

Few steak houses advertise their broiler men, but the barrier-busting Keefer's hired acclaimed chef John Hogan to run the kitchen. Hogan's definition of a steak-house menu breaks all conventions by including his signature bistro fare, inventive daily specials (pray for the seafood-rich bouillabaisse), and plenty of fish offerings as well as New York strips and hefty porterhouses. The circular... more

A classy, corporate-chic steakhouse with a bustling bar scene, flooded with natural light and a stunning cityscape through 16-foot-high windows. Comfy black leather booths line the walls of the circular dining room. Under classically trained Chef John Hogan, the kitchen brings new life to old favorites. Coated in panko bread crumbs, fried calamari is a discovery, meltingly tender and delicious.... more

Searching for steak but tired of your regular table at Morton's? Head a few blocks southwest. Offering top-quality cuts and a broader bistro approach, Keefer's Steakhouse is certainly on par with the neighboring Ruth's Chris, where owner Glenn Keefer hails from. The menu fuses American chop house with the best of bistro, courtesy of chef John Hogan (Everest Room, Kiki's Bistro). Proving... more

Would highly recommend Keefer's for a party.

Was planning my mom's 75th birthday and stumbled across this restaurant on the web. Photos looked nice, etc. -- that's all I knew of the place. Our whole group was blown away by the food -- large portions, cooked exactly how each of us wanted. They had us in a private room with its own entrance (Keefer's Kafe), which was quaint and comfortable. ... more

Let me save everyone the trouble. The food is okay, and may be worth the visit. However, I have dined at this restaurant several times - each time giving it a 2nd, or in my last visit, 3rd and final chance. The service staff is very rude! I have a friend who is a travel agent and he said " I told you they are rude there, and I told you not to go back". So there you have folks - up to you. In a... more

Service ok,

Tuna steak mushy, fatty, bland in flavor
Baked Spud no better than a Ryans steak house

Do yourself a favor and head to Cap Grill or Harry Cary's across the street

Carys is hands down better and has ambience, this place is sterile and way over hyped

blahhhhh
