Katana, fun to say, better to eat
Great sushi, great atmosphere!

Business Description from the Web
Inside Sunset Boulevard’s Piazza del Sol is Katana, an industry haunt known for both sushi and the house specialty, a type of Japanese charcoal grilling called robata. Owned by the same group as Sushi Roku and BOA Steakhouse, Katana blends elements of both establishments with its sushi and robata bar. Skewers of chicken, Kobe beef, sea bass and shitake mushrooms are easy to share and go well...

Robata would dominate this eclectic menu if it werent for the gazillion sakes to wade through! Dramatic lighting, warm wood tones and an overall coziness add flavor you can feel.
Brought to you by the award-winning promoters behind Sushi Roku and Balboa at the Grafton, this sexy, chic restaurant and lounge makes its home in the Piazza del Sol Building, one of West Hollywood's priciest pieces of real estate. The lounge is decorated with raw and rugged abstract art, highlighted by candlelight that makes everyone appear to be dermatologically flawless. Breathtaking...

Editorial Reviews from the web
The team behind Balboa and Sushi Roku has put its muscle into this sceney Japanese restaurant and lounge. The decor verges on "Blade Runner" territory, with ultramodern touches like steel I-beams substituting for traditional teak rafters, and security grills standing in for Japanese lattice. It's all pretty swank, but the primo spot is the elevated patio, which overlooks the action on the...

The faster blade of Japanese cubist experience. Nausea-inducing L.A. cheese personified. Divine grilled meats on skewers just like camping, without the smelly boys. Sushi just a stand-in for hectic, hot scene of celebrity revelry and anorexic runway glam. Crazy fun for whole sea bass, tarragon shrimp, and popcorn shrimp. Nanbakan does a similar deal at half the price, but Katana has 100% more...

Katana's sushi bar is made from a 600-year-old redwood tree. VIDEO TOUR: QuickTime Every year restaurant trendcasters try to fathom what the next big hit will be, hoping to predict this season's equivalent to Nuevo Latino, tall communal tables a la Philippe Starck, or revolting flavored martinis. The team behind the trio of Sushi Roku restaurants seems to know just what the young...

Our servers name was Chris and he was charming, our food came fast....very fast actually. Our tea was constantly refilled without asking, our food was introduced and explained to us as it was served, the manager came over and gave...

Went there on Sunday night, place is empty, hostess tells us there are large parties coming in so she can not seat us outside and that we can either sit at the banquettes in front or at the bar. We ask her if there is service at the banquette and she said "yes" so we sit and every waiter in the place walks right by us. I ask the hostess if she could send someone over to take our order, she says...
