For this Eater Meat-on-a-Stick Power Hour we're resurrecting this Gastronaust post on the most outrageous Bloody Mary garnish. Behold, the $18 Bloody Mary at Mojeaux's (2024 Rusk). Katharine Shilcutt describes it best: "The garnish went way beyond vegetables; a Jimmy Dean-looking sausage biscuit with cheese crowned the giant 20-ounce mug." How was it? "The Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit atop the...
It is with sadness and regret that I share this news: Kata Robata will no longer offer $1 yakitori on Sundays. The good news for this Eater Meat-on-a-Stick Power Hour? Kata chef Manabu "Hori" Horiuchi will now be serving up 72-hour slow-cooked Texas Kobe beef skewers that look like this:
It's time to update the Eater 38, your answer and ours to any question that begins, "Can you recommend a restaurant?" This highly elite group covers the entire city, spans myriad cuisines, and collectively satisfies all of your restaurant needs, save for those occasions when you absolutely must spend half a paycheck. Every couple of months, we'll be adding pertinent restaurants that were...
If you were looking for a cut-throat culinary challenge, Go Pig or Go Home wasn't it. The annual throw-down, held in the parking lot at Kata Robata was more of a street party, with the beer free-flowing, the music an '80s-'90s groove, the sheer number of things you can do with a sucking pig on unabashed display.
All the heavy hitters were there. (Well, all the heavy hitters who hadn't been...
I think the title of my review says it all but I would like to add that the Manager has no clue about: 'the customer comes first' ... We had an issue with our food and he did not have the decency to come to our table and apologize, even when we asked our sever to call him.
The title says it all, but at lunch today there was a dead fly in my salad. It completely disgusted me. When I told the waitress there was no apology just an offer of a new salad, which I could not imagine eating.
Love this place. Have been here several times and never had a bad meal or bad service so finally decided to write a review. The Picante roll is amazing -- just the right amount of heat and the ramen is awesome. The miso lobster mac-n-cheese is decadent. Wasn't sure what to expect the first time ordered (it's a sushi place...
Took my wife here for a birthday lunch which was excellent. So many great choices on the menu. She chose a bento box from the lunch menu and I chose the robata 72 hr slow cooked Kobe beef skewers followed by one of their rolls. All was really tasty - the beef in particular was just melt in your mouth...
This place serves the best ramen. Love their sushi as well. Must try the spicy soy ramen if you like spicy noodles. Great service a pleasant atmosphere for dining.
