Business Description from the Web
Chef Otto Herman opened the doors to his downtown caf in 1904 not likely knowing the legacy that was to begin with its conception. Karl Ratzschs serves a German cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost over $20, and dress casual.
In the same location since 1929, Karl Ratzch's may seem a bit old fashioned, but the truth is, they serve excellent traditional German food in a convivial atmosphere, and there's no reason to change a good thing. The results -- for a German at least -- is just plain silliness (and at a high price too). The staff exudes phony friendliness and at least in my case, was inattentive. The waitress had learned her lines well, but a...
