You never know what you're going to find at Kalustyan's, the venerable international food market that 'continues to try to satisfy the palatal needs of the community,' as its Web site, www.kalustyans.com, says. That has meant stocking a vast range of unusual seasonings and ingredients from India and the Middle East, and in the last year, expanding its selection of prepared foods.
Mostly famous for apparently limitless collection of spices -- including the mundane but ranging through cuisines from dozens of countries. Go-to spot for chefs high and low to find that special new somethin' somethin' to liven up a dead dish. Nearly absurd variety makes browsing an endless pleasure. Prices moderate except for serious exotics.

KALUSTYANS is a fantasy market for anyone that loves to cook. Even the most jaded shoppers are wide eyed when they walk in and see the vast selection and wide repertoire of foods from around the world.
