Poor quality service
I was once a faithful customer of JA&T until several instances of bad service sent me elsewhere. During my loyalty phase I saw numerous dissatisfied customers hash it out with Bob. I witnessed a complete meltdown of Bob when he couldn't locate a set of keys because the office was a pig sty - he was shouting at the top of his lungs how he hated the place. The shop was always a mess. I religiously took my cars into JA&T for routine maintenance, but they couldn't diagnose the tricky stuff. My Cougar had 65K miles on it when the engine blew because Duane's fix for my coolant leak was just to keep adding coolant everytime I was there for an oil change. Never failed that a week or so later the coolant light would come on - and they could never figure out why. I paid a hefty price for their incompetence. The weekend before Labor Day '04 I took my car in for a routine check and specifically asked Duane to go over everything completely - especially my tires - because I was driving to Vegas for the holiday and travelling with a car full of dogs. Duane & Bob gave me the big thumbs up and sent me on my way. The following weekend I was in the middle of practically nowhere when the tread on my right rear tire seperated and I was stranded in 100 plus heat with four dogs at 5pm on a Friday. Luckily I had AAA and a cell phone - I begged a guy to stay late at his shop in the next town up the road that I was getting towed to so he could put a couple of new tires on my car! The tread also did body damage to my car when it flew off the tire. Another instance, Duane & Bob couldn't diagnose a faulty alternator over the course of 2 - 3 months of problems either. All in all JA&T cost me a bundle! I now drive a car with 150K miles on it and I religiously go to Salem Boys in Tempe. I gladly pay the extra cost because Salem Boys mechanics know what they are doing - and my car purrs like a kitten!
