I saw this doctor after being admitted to the hostpital from the ER. I had no say in who I saw and what they did. Yet when billing time came I got billed for procedures that were not covered and were not coded as emergency room consults. I called his office to explain that my insurance would not cover unless they billed it as me coming in through the emergency room, and in response I was told...

I was admitted into the hospital from the ER for unexplained anaphylaxis shock. I was in no condition to choose which doctors at the hospital I saw and which I sent away. Turns out as a normal consult Dr. Cannon is not covered under my insurance. As an emergency room admit, however, he would be. My insurance explained this to his office, as did I.
