The place to go to meet/greet folks in the Heights. Service extremely friendly. Thank goodness they had cold brew after Hurricane Ike. Pretty sweet since there wasn't any power for blocks around.

I agree with the previous review, being about to bring your dog is a plus, except if you don't have a dog... I found Jimmie's place to be an interesting place to grab and beer (and pay for with cash only, by the way) and meet some colorful local patrons. The bartender was a little rude about not being able to pay with credit cards & I would have appreciated some great tunes while there. I...

They let you bring your dog. That's gotta be worth something, right? They sometimes make grub for free and they're kind to locals. I appreciate them putting up little words on their signage to say nice things for people who've frequented them that have passed away. It's a down to earth ice house and easy to have a drink there.
