Jian has pretty good Korean food and a great bar, but is located in West Hollywood instead of Koreatown. It has a lot traditional Korean dishes but is more contemporary/trendy in its outlook. The decor inside is really fun, with a giant foggy buddha head and giant robots. Prices are fair and the staff is always nice without any snoot factor.

Much as it is fun to go over to Soot B*ll Jeep for old-school barbecue, sometimes it is nice to splurge with a little bit more luxurious meal. Jian has great tasty food, and because it is new and well ventilated, there is no nasty BBQ stench on your clothing and in your hair when it's all over. Im not sure what kind of person would say that the meat here is anything but exceptional, because Ive eaten korean bbq all over LA not to mention abroad, and there are few places that can challenge Jian when it comes to meat quality.
