My truck had a small oil leak. It was tagged to be towed if not moved within 24 Hrs. The tow truck showed up in less then 6 Hrs, I had not seen the leak nor the tow tag! I heard the truck outside. When I went outside I then saw the tag that was dated for the next day. I told the driver to look at it and give me a min to call the landlord. His responce was, "Do you have the keys? That will make the tow bill lower." I was a little shocked to say the least... 5 min is all I needed.... I have my truck back.. My landloard had to pay the bill... So all isgood now. Better customer service could have helped avoid more headache.... I will never use them, and will recomend anyone else...
Triple AAA contracted Jensen to tow my car on Friday night when it broke down on the highway. I decided not to tow it to my home when I was quoted $4 per mile above the 5 mile AAA free tow since Jensen's driver said they had a mechanic who would be in on Monday. I requested a phone call and estimate and said that if it was anything major I would like to take it to my mechanic. I see now that this was a good decision. The driver wrote down my cell number and said they would call. So far, no fees were mentioned.
On Monday afternoon after no call, I called to find out that nothing had been done and that they thought I didn't want anyone to touch it. I said I would have it picked up and then surprise! They asked who would be paying the $130 "impounding, storage, and paperwork fees".
I was shocked and dismayed. I informed them that no fees had been mentioned and said that had I known, I would have gotten it on Saturday morning (why would I "store it otherwise?). After wrangling (of course I involved AAA immediately) and being on hold, they managed to delay until nearly closing time.
Fearing another day of fees, I offered to give them my credit card number to pay the fees if they would leave it outside of the walled compound where I could pick it up tonight. No Dice! Cash Only.
Its such a pity that some people feel that they have to make their living by preying on helpless travellers like this.
I can only hope that they go out of business as soon as possible and that AAA stops using them as a recommended towing agent.
This is the first time I have felt strongly enough about a business to write a negative review to post on the internet. I hope someone is listening.
