Jardiniere (gardener in French) is the brainchild of chef Traci Des Jardins and designer Pat Kuleto. Des Jardins transforms seasonal provisions into newly inspired French classics. Crisp chicken, lobster strudel, and truffled scallops are winter menu standouts. Kuleto`s mottled mauve walls, plush velvets and draping metal balustrades perfectly echo the restrained elegance of the chef`s vision... more

Warm yet cosmopolitan, this brick powerhouse draws a moneyed crowd to its plush two levels. Given its location, Jardiniere is a popular pre- and post-symphony hangout. Since 1997, Jardiniere has offered superb Cal-French fare highlighting seasonal ingredients. Though owner Traci Des Jardins no longer mans the stoves, the menu hews to her vision. Creamy butternut squash soup with a whisper of... more

A favorite with the symphony and politico crowd, but cool enough for young hipsters with good credit. Dust off the Armani and practice those table manners. Groovy interior design resembles a giant champagne flute. Dining at the lively centerpiece mahogany bar is best, especially if your date is a bore. Best bet? Sidle up to the bar for a slice of goat cheese, glass of Bordeaux and nightly live... more

Restaurant designer Pat Kuleto's stellar creation is a joy. Jardinière's theme seems to be celebration with an inverted Champagne glass soaring above the bar and an oval dome sparkling like rising bubbles. A balcony-level dining area offers the best view of the party scene below. Chef-owner Traci Des Jardins is brilliant in the kitchen using the finest ingredients with a strong appreciation... more

Went here for a friend's birthday and tried the taster's menu. Food was delicious- But be ready b/c this is def one of those spots where you are paying for small portions, ambiance, and all that good stuff. Would go for special occaissions, but the hefty price tag doesn't make it a regular spot for me.

Elegance and opulence in the Civic Center area.

This is a great special occasion restaurant, wonderful food and superb service, but you expect this at this price tag. Not for the light of wallet!

The rooms (up and down) are lovely, with a timeless Art Nouveau feel. Very romantic

I'm not sure what the fuss is about....

Where to start... The valet guys are rude. The servers are overworked and even the good ones can't turn around food because the kitchen isn't ready. The cheese board is the most expensive on Planet Earth. The place is LOUD, and I mean totally, unacceptably loud for a restaurant. And the whole experience is way to expensive for what it is. Having said that, the food's pretty good - when it... more
