What a terrible place to have in the middle of downtown! It is overrun with gangs of teenagers, the shops are all junky and cheap, the restaurants are average at best, nothing to write home about, and after dark - watch out - lots of crime. Any music acts are third-rate. Pretty scary place to take the kids after dark as well. If you want a nice family outing, opt for San Marco or Riverside...

Nowhere else in the United States of America can one feel the small town simplicity and kindness and yet alongside that, the city flavor of larger cities. Only in Jacksonville, Florida, can one feel both at the same time and feel comfortable and happy to BE there!

I am not from Jacksonville, I am from Nashville, and I recently went to Jacksonville by myself for a much needed vacation and was really surprised by the Landing. I stayed on the south bank of the river and walked over the Main Street Bridge and did alot of shopping at the Landing. They have a lot of stores and alot of sales.
