Help us make it rightSo today I tried out J Gumbo's. The service was excellent. The young lady had me sample two items on the menu and the special. I combined all three. I walked in thinking I was going to go for gumbo, jambalaya or etoufee. However after the sample of the drunken chicken (spicy), something with corn and beans and the special...
J Gumbo's serves up some pretty good gumbo and other NOLA fare in Louisville. It's a good lunch stop. They have spicy hot and a couple of milder dishes, which are what I gravitate to. The desserts always look tempting.
Excellent voodoo chicken and bumble bee stew! Worth the trip.
I thought this place was great. Food was very tasty, spicy (just as described on the menu), and filling. Tea was good, service was friendly, air conditioning was cold. What more could you want?
Good spicy gumbo. Not a bad plate to be found. Kids even like it
J. Gumbo's features cajun & creole cooking. There are five other Louisville locations.
With several locations sprinkled around town, J. Gumbo's has quickly risen to become a favorite spot for many to grab a fast lunch that still has some quality and substance. At J. Gumbo's the prices are right and the Cajun flavors fantastic! The eatery managed to claim first prize in the Phoenix Hill Chili Cookoff with their Voodoo Chili, which is no small feat!
