The only reason why Island Spice got 4 stars is due to their parking and dining situation. It sucks. But the food tho....! My oh my is it delicious! They are relocating soon to University Ave....

Excellent as always. The oxtail was perfectly tender the rice hot and perfect, and as always the plantains were fabulous. I think tIsland Spice might be the best Caribbean place in San Diego. I wish they were open later.

It was good to find a Caribbean spot down in SD. I went in looking for Ox tail and was disappointed that they did not have any so I had to settle for the jerk chicken, which was an OK substitute. You can done in but this place is more of a take out and enjoy back at home or...

If you're in San Diego and looking for an authentic Jamaican meal, head for the quiet neighborhood section of Market Street where it passes over the 94 freeway and get a table at Island Spice.
High quality, well prepared food served in a heaping pile on your plate is waiting for you.
