As the headline states, there's no better burger in Hollywood, esp. for the price. I got a double cheeseburger and fries for under $8.00. The burger was relatively larger than a Double-Double. Definitely the best burgers in Los Angeles - and consistently good too!
Just a little correction to lanasmommy's post (08/31/2008): It wasn't the city that wanted to tear it down to build something bigger, it was the landlord (Irv's leases). The neighborhood revolt convinced the city to step in and declare the stand a cultural landmark.
Irv's is a no frills hamburger stand, built many years ago. The city of WEHO was going to tear it down at some point so that a chain could move in and the neighborhood protested and petitioned to keep this land-mark in place.
