Great Lunch in 90210

Review Rating
Il Pastaio combines outstanding food, service and location. I usually go there for lunch, so I am unfamiliar with it for dinner. Generally, I have a large Italian lunch with one of their great salads or pastas and some fish and watch everybody in BH filtering by then wash it down with some authentic Italian espresso. The prices are high but it is definitely worth it.

Reasonably priced antipasti, pasta and dolci are the draw at Celestino Drago’s casual but handsome little spin-off of Drago, the star chef’s superb Italian restaurant in Santa Monica (though now it’s run by one of his brothers, Giacomino). The carpaccio -- beef, venison, and smoked swordfish -- are luscious, and Sicilian specialties like arancini (fried rice croquettes oozing melted cheese) are practically ... more

The Scene Well-heeled locals gather for agent lunches or casual dinners, particularly lively on the early side. Blue-eyed gurus in white turbans rub elbows with society wives and character actors you can almost recognize. The Food Don't miss the tender eggplant rolls filled with tangy, meltingly soft goat cheese and sun-dried tomato, or the delicate zucchini soufflé. Mussels ... more

Sicilian-born chef/owner Giacomino Drago (scion of L.A.'s well-known Drago restaurateur family) hit the jackpot with this hugely successful, value-priced trattoria, located on a busy corner in the shopping district of Beverly Hills. All day long, Giacomino's fans take a break from work or shopping and converse over glasses of Chianti and plates of oh-so-authentic pasta. With 57 menu items to choose ... more

We stayed at the Grouse Lodge as a part of a ski trip package. We were very happy with our room and the staff. We did have a problem one night in the restaurant as two of our group had gone in before us and already placed their order. When we joined them, the waiter brought us a menu, but... more

We were at the lodge for a conference, the meetings went well (kudos to the banquet dept) but the restaurant was a nightmare. Our group of 20 was split into 2 long tables, took 1/2 hour to get water/menus, and 2 hours (!!) to get our meal. The order was mixed up, some did not get what they ordered. Perhaps... more

Need more than one washer and dryer at each end of 1st floor or one on each end of the 2nd floor. Need a timer on computer to cut person off after their time limit has been exceeded. A person stayed at least 1 hour (that I know of). They may have been on there longer before I saw them. The sign said 30 minute limit. When the front desk person told them that someone else needed to use the computer ... more
