Great Lunch in 90210
Il Pastaio combines outstanding food, service and location. I usually go there for lunch, so I am unfamiliar with it for dinner. Generally, I have a large Italian lunch with one of their great salads or pastas and some fish and watch everybody in BH filtering by then wash it down with some authentic Italian espresso. The prices are high but it is definitely worth it.
Business Description from the Web
Reasonably priced antipasti, pasta and dolci are the draw at Celestino Drago’s casual but handsome little spin-off of Drago, the star chef’s superb Italian restaurant in Santa Monica (though now it’s run by one of his brothers, Giacomino). The carpaccio -- beef, venison, and smoked swordfish -- are luscious, and Sicilian specialties like arancini (fried rice croquettes oozing melted cheese) are...

The Scene Well-heeled locals gather for agent lunches or casual dinners, particularly lively on the early side. Blue-eyed gurus in white turbans rub elbows with society wives and character actors you can almost recognize. The Food Don't miss the tender eggplant rolls filled with tangy, meltingly soft goat cheese and sun-dried tomato, or the delicate zucchini...

It's time to get ill! Baker's bakery, undeniable al dente pasta and wonderful focaccia for rich hill dwellers and industry hopefuls. Black seafood risotto, bucatini con polpette ,does cause the sidewalk seats and elegant room to get a wee bit crowded and could we get some earplugs on the side? We'd like to take a moment and introduce you to your neighbor's lap, 'cause that's where you'll be...

I can only speak about my meal, which was Milanese chicken with roasted vegetables - price $25.95 (something like that) I got an enormous piece of chicken, which was not seasoned at all, and tasted like battered rubber!!! With than I was given 2...

We went to Il Pastaio for lunch on a Sunday to celebrate my Mothers birthday. We were seated promtly outside, which was nice. The meal was pretty good. Midway through the meal, my Mother found something in her pasta. She asked if she should say anything. I told her yes. I asked for our waiter, which we found out, with no explanation from anyone, that our original waiter had left and we now...

Having relocated to Beverly Hills recently a co-worker took me to what he said was the best Italian in Beverly Hills.
Twenty minutes pass and we were still waiting for a table. I assumed this would be great food since there didn't seem to be a waiit at the surrounding restaurants. I was wrong. My minestrone tasted like boiled water with a vegtable or two. My pasta was average at best. The...
