"Deftly prepared" sushi, "solid teppanyaki" and other "traditional" Japanese edibles distinguish this Caesars Palace resident near Cleopatra's Barge, which proffers its eats in a "relaxing", gardenlike space with "bamboo everywhere"; what's more, service is "friendly", helping to mitigate the "expensive" tabs.

Amid the ever-greater proliferation of specialized Japanese eateries---sushi bars, ramen shops, teppanyaki grills, tofu restaurants and so on---we're happy to find that this versatile place still thrives. Upscale Japanese homes were the…

In ShortIt's no longer impossible to eat at Rao's. Now that the legendary East Harlem restaurant has opened at Caesars Palace with 175 tables, as opposed to just 10 in New York City, everyone can dig a fork into that famous…

Hyakumi (Yah-koo-me) is a quaint little oasis in the midst of a bustling casino. Tastefully decorated with hardwood floors in a tea-garden atmosphere, it is a relaxing respite from the madness of Vegas, as kimono-clad waitresses cater to your every need with a never-ending cup of particularly good green tea, plus hot towels, to put you in a Zen-like state.

I'm from Hawaii, where eating Japanese cuisine is part of my everyday. Truthfully, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant while on a vacation, but the boyfriend wanted to...and I owed him for so willingly accompanying me to the Celine Dion concert. Hyakumi was an unexpected delight. We …

It's better than I expected for getting sushi in the middle of a desert. The ambience isn't really my thing, but frankly that's okay. The bento box with assorted sashimi is definitely a good buy, although last time I was here I'd have to complain that they took forever to get my bill, which is annoying when you're in a hurry to get somewhere.

Horrid! Sushi was pre made, lobster was a stew! Both arrived before we had 2 sips of wine (and were good for a few glasses each)- Caesars should be ashamed.

Tips about this business (2)

Where to Sit: Forgo the indoor "patio" and either cozy up in a booth where photos of famous people eyeball you as you eat or head to the real outdoors, poolside, where you can enjoy a game of bocce in between bites.

The Extras: Bring Rao's home with you. Homemade pasta sauces, premium pasta, roasted peppers, extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, marinades and dressings are for sale in connecting gift shop.
