Monica and I went to the Mackland location in St. Louis this afternoon to meet a dog that was up for adoption. After spending 20 minutes of filling out paperwork we were informed that they would not let us meet Dasia (a small 2 year old Dachshund/Schnauzer mix) because we have a 10 year old boy. They stated that the minimum age for a child with this dog is 12. They told us that Dasia doesn’t do well with people of small stature and she was easily “excited”. Small stature? I took my wife & son to a pet shop to see how my 2 1/2 year old son would interact with a dog. He's an only child & I think he'd be happy to have a little friend. My wife talked me into purchasing a $500 new breed dog. I went on the Humane Society's website & the had the same dog housebroken for only $70 bucks. As you can imagine Im pretty uspet!!!
