Youth-, nature-, and Internet-oriented Austin goes all out for its hostelers at this winning facility, located on the hike-and-bike trail, with views of Town Lake that many would pay through the nose to get. Amenities not only include the standard laundry room and kitchen, but also a high-speed Internet kiosk (with a meager $1 fee per stay), and in 2004, the grounds became wi-fi (un)wired, too.... more

Nothing fancy, but for a youth hostel, it's not bad at all. Great location by the river, so you can jog and hang out close by. Short cab ride to the best nightlife in Texas!!
