Nice Hotel - Hard Pillows - Lousy Sleep

This is a nice hotel with a wonderful lobby. The staff is nice, but my complaint is about the pillows. While most hotels provide both hard and soft pillows to accommodate guests. This hotel only had hard pillows that were very thick which made it impossible for me to sleep comfortably. As a business traveler, getting a good nights sleep...

Nice room; not so nice location

Decent room and comfortable bed. Lots of freeway noise. Water barely hot. Microwave turntable wasn't the right one for the unit so couldn't use it. Breakfast mediocre; was expecting waffles and/or pancakes, and there wasn't any fruit to speak of. Easy to find, but not much around there to do or any halfway decent restaurants. Everything you could ask for. Very expensive just coming in off the hwy, and getting a room. Beds were awesome, and breakfast too! They did the best they could to give me a good price. Friendly and helpful staff. Internet worked great. Didn't get to experience the pool or fitness center.

I stayed for two nights on business and based my reservation at this hotel on price since I have a per diem to stick to. While the hotel is not at the hub of anything, it is only a 10 minute drive to old downtown Bakersfield or a 15 minute drive to the nice shops off Ming Ave (heading west)....
