THE BUG WHISPERER COMETH!... TO HOFFERS
I have traveled all across the country and have visited pet stores everywhere. Hoffer's Tropic Life Pets is hands down the mother of all pet stores. It has an integrated zoo with an alligator pit, tortoises running freely through the garden pond area and live education shows like TONY'S CREEPY CRAWLY ZOO and SNAKES ALIVE.

It could be the better of the pet stores around. Worth the drive if you are not located on the NW side of Milwaukee. But unfortunately the service and prices will keep you away. The selection of reptiles and fish is very nice, until you see the prices and try to get some questions answered..... The owner is not much help either. I would recommend other less expensive pet stores or...

A few years ago I went to Hoffer's to purchase a baby bearded dragon. First of all, it took me about 15 minutes just to find someone willing to help. I said I wanted a female, so the employee told me the specific dragon I got was a female. Well, it turned out to be a male.. he lied and said that just to make a sale. We went to hoffers after having a horrible expierence at petland. Marc at hoffers was extremely helpful and knowledgable. We ended up purchaseing everything we needed for our water dragon set up and actually got a bigger tank than what we were looking at for only 2 dollars more than petland (same brand).
