Part of the Mike Ilitch empire, this upscale downtown sports bar is located in the same building as the The Second City Comedy Club , across the street from Comerica Park , and it capitalizes on the frenzy over Ilitch’s Red Wings hockey team. Up front, the dance floor stays hopping almost every night of the week with live bands and local DJs. A small menu is available. On game nights, a shuttle runs to Red Wings home games. Comerica Park is across ... more

In Short This is Red Wings central: See high points of Stanley Cup victories, statues of Steve Yzerman and Gordie Howe and jerseys from the old days. When Second City is playing (in the same building), a young crowd primes itself at Hockeytown's ice bar beforehand. Several levels above bar food, the menu includes some traditional dishes like salmon, ribs, cobb salad and strip steak, and ... more

This place is a joke! It was recommended to us as we were in from out of town and just wanted to watch a some football on a Sunday afternoon. First, unless you liked the Lions (or Tigers as they were playing across the street too), forget about watching the game you want to see. I understand it's IN Detroit, but this place has many many TVs... surely they can put more than the Lions and Tigers games ... more

Hockey Town at its finest remains. Renovation or no renovation this is still a great place to go for food and atmosphere. A little expensive, but tell me what is not expensive anymore. This is a great part of Detroit to hang out and have a good time.
