ok, so madison is pretty chill and has lots of hippies and not enough swank most of the time. But if you want to do it up fancy, this is the ONLY place in madison to do it. Views of the capitol or the lake, walking distance to pretty much everything that visitors want to see (farmers market, state street, convention center, capitol, UW union terrace, both lakes, etc).
