Non-Smoking Room Still Smells Smokey

Unless the property is 100% smoke free, you're going to smell smoke, and unfortunately this was the case at the HGI in Bakersfield.
The room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very polite and welcoming. But this hotel has "smoking" rooms, and even though I stayed in a "non-smoking" room, the smell of smoke lingered...

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, great location

This is our third time staying here and we love it. All staff very helpful and informative. Location is perfect, quiet, close to highway, many restaurants. Breakfast at hotel really good, price is reasonable.

Lovely quaint hotel. Very Basic. Staff pleasant and helpful.
Only no bellboy to take the luggage at any time. When we came he was out for lunch so we had to take the luggage ourself as we did not want to way an hour for the guy to return from lunch.
Rooms are clean and toilet clean.

Needs a shampoo

The carpets in the hotel room need to be shampooed. I had to switch rooms because the carpet had food stains on the desk had food stains as well. I spent most of the night nursing my allergy attack because the carpet in the other room was very musty. It didn't feel clean overall.

Accessible rooms for people with mobility issues

I stayed the night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bakersfield. I use a wheelchair so i needed an accessible room. when I arrived i noticed a huge roll-in shower and big bathroom. my room even had a fridge and microwave. it was so comfortable and clean. I look forward to stay at Hilton Garden Inn Bakersfield again soon!!
