i liked everything. i have stayed here at least six times and each time has been very satisfactory. very affordable, very clean. no internet but that was okay. i am going back. dan glenn, macomb, il.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. We were coming in town for a funeral, not sure of what time we would arrive or leave. They were very accommodating to our unpredictable schedule. The room was old, but clean and comfortable. Not a luxury hotel, but provided a good nights rest. Restaurant right next door was very convenient.

I have never been treated so terribly by an establishment in my entire life. The owner was not going to check us in on the night we arrived although we had a reservation because there were two couples (she was told this on the phone). She said two double beds was not proper for two couples. She told us we smelled like smoke, and there was no smoking allowed. We had been in a bar on the way...

During a lengthy phone call to make reservations, I found the owner of the Hilltop to be highly unethical, unprofessional & biased. Her attitude & demeanor saved us from a problematic weekend getaway from the big city. Due to her belittlement of a nearby competitor, we decided to stay there instead. The Sundowner was as pleasant as our weekend at the Lake! Please be advised...
