As I am not from this area so this may be acceptable for trattoria style food.... reading all the reviews it sounded like the place we should go to.
Started with Fried Fresh Mozzarella (frozen?) in marinara sauce(tasteless) , Calamari (the accompanying fried peppers were better ) and Sole Florentine..NO...NO...
Service was very good...but this is not a "wine"bar...

If you are looking for a nice dining experience in the Newington, CT area try The Hidden Vine. It is a small family run place with the touch you won't find in larger "chains". The owners and their son, who manages, are omnipresent and give you that "at home" feel while still being served fine cuisine away from the house....

The food here is amazing. They have different specials every night. One night they had a 16 oz boneless ribeye which was absolutely delicious. I've been here a few times already and the new ownership is doing a much more of an excellent job with all aspects of this business.

our menu could be described as "Italian with a modern twist" serving a lighter gourmet fare of business of bruchestta, paninis, salads, and soups. A wide selection of entrees are also offered and made fresh to order, some with secret Italian recipies passed down through generations.
