Hank's Haute Dogs Restaurant Review

With a move next door to a larger, freshly renovated space, Hank’s continues to dish up its signature “haute” dogs. The Portuguese sausage with mango mustard and pineapple relish is a favorite. The hugely popular lobster dog is now served every day. Daily specials include rabbit, boar, and Kobe beef versions. For a more traditional selection, opt for Hank’s “Fat Boy,” a bacon-wrapped,...

Owner Henry "Hank" Adaniya is the restaurateur who gave celeb Chicago chef Grant Achatz his first big break at the late restaurant Trio in Evanston, Illinois. So it's no surprise that his idea of a hot dog involves things like wild boar sausage with cran-apple relish. In 2006, Hank moved to his parents' home state to open this DIY chic storefront in the regentrifying neighborhood of Kakaako. Go...

With only a few tables and counter seating along a wall, space fills up fairly quickly here---even during off-peak hours. The obsession, of course, is with the so-called "haute" dogs. A duck and foie gras dog is on the menu, but we like… Read More

Full-disclosure/fun fact: I was Hank's Haute Dogs first employee back when it opened in 2007. That being said, I've nothing but love for Hank and the Dogs! It's been a wild Journey to have been a part of the organization and see the success that has come since.

Haute Dog Cuisine. Read a lot of reviews and wanted to check this little spot out. We ended up going to it three different times since the hotdogs were sooooo good. Our favorites were the Lobster Dogs, the fries covered in a special cheese sauce, and the Mac and Cheese. I wish he had a chain of these throughout the rest of the USA!

.... quick drive to Hank’s Haute Dogs which offers a creative take on the All-American favourite, the hot dog. Hank’s is a cute little place just off of Ala Moana Blvd, but away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. There are a couple of stools along the counter inside, but most of the seating is outside on picnic tables with umbrellas. And when you are in Hawaii, why wouldn’t you want to sit...

I went to try the Chicago hot dog after it got listed as a top Honolulu taste by Honolulu magazine. It tasted, well, like a hot dog. Nothing too exceptional about the way that it tasted. It was certainly refreshing to have the hot dog topped by fresh tomatoes rather than the inevitable ketchup but I do that at home anyway. The relish looked fresh and interesting and so I am assuming that it was...

Came here on my last night in Hawaii. It's located in the International Center - think tourist trap.

I was suggested this place by a friend. It's all right for a hot dog, nothing too special, but I think the ones inside Honolulu not here are better.
