If you need to visit someone on the Norfolk Naval Base and need a hotel, this is the best place to stay in winter. It's a couple of miles off the gates and the room rate in winter is affordable. They offer complimentary continental breakfast with some really nice items (such as oatmeal bars), and the room is comfortable enough. I stayed at my first Hampton Inn about a month before this trip, so when I had to return I decided to stay in another Hampton closer to my travels, just because the first Hampton was so nice.
