Granville Cafe

I give this one star because they managed to spell the name of the cafe correctly.

I have never visited the one in Burbank. However last weekend I was unfortunate enough to stumble across the one in Glendale.

Not only was I offended by the terrible food and equally terrible service, but I was offended by the servers looming by the computers and tossing around ethnic names in the most disrespectful ways. I am black and I swear to Christ I heard one of the white male servers call someone a jigga boo. Not only that but they carelessly tossed around the word 'Armo' at some middle eastern looking men, that I'm sure, might I add, could hear them. I'm not sure what an Armo is but I assume it's not a nice term.

The service took seriously like two hours.

This place sucks.

I'll go to Katsuya or Frida any day.

And I don't appreciate being judged by the color of my skin. This is NOT 1950. I'm sure others don't either. This is supposed to be a cafe tht is CASUAL without the superorty complex.

Convenient Lunch and Dinner Spot

The Granville Cafe is located in the heart of Burbank, close to the mall and box stores. Although the menu and food are both great, the service is a little off sometimes. You order on the way in, sit down and they bring the food to you. The the interior is both spacious and nicely designed. It's a great place for working lunch or dinner. (Try counting the people with lanyards and you will see.) Their salads and sandwiches are particularly good. Prices are moderate and there is a full bar, too. There is a lot of parking on San Fernando, but if you want to stay longer, try the parking structures.

I really like the food here, and the prices are decent. They have a good selection of organic foods on the menu, and the salads are pretty good. Sometimes I just order a soup and a side of grilled veggies and am totally stuffed. But I have to say the service is almost horrible here. The waitstaff is slow and absent-minded and we find ourselves waiting endlessly for silverware or straws. Not a place to go if you're in a rush or have a pet-peeve with incompetent staff.

UPDATE: Service is good for dinner when staff works as usual. It's lunch that's a mess, when you order your food at the cashier, get a number and drink (utensils, etc.) service is handled separately. God help you if you're missing a fork.

I like this casual dining cafe, they have nice decor with friendly staff. A relaxing patio seating to look out on San Fernando Road. The food is good, they have some interesting dish on the menu.
