Being an "in-law" of the Langdon family, I was very impressed by the knowledge of the curator. My husband, whose mother is a Langdon has told me many things over the years but I really got a feel of the Governor and the time in which he lived. It is nice to have this family background.
John Langdon, merchant, signer of the Constitution, and three-term Governor of New Hampshire, built this imposing house, which was once visited by George Washington. The handsome garden features restored perennial beds, a rose and grape arbor, and a pavilion. The grounds may be rented for weddings and other occasions.
